I think they did a phenomenal job capturing the time frame of this series. Is it annoying how misogynistic/sexist the period was? Yes. But that does not mean it is not fitting nonetheless. And Peggy Carter is, as always, a perfect example of if you are meant to succeed in life, you will do so. And she holds no judgment against someone's life unless they truly deserve to be judged in such a manner. She stays true to who she is and what she stands for in every episode.
!!! SPOILERS BELOW !!!
- Now is Not the End
- I appreciate that even though we have seen the movie and gotten glimpses into S.H.I.E.L.D. that they still show us how her story got a start.
- The phone company? That is the cover we are using? Can't even say secretary at a military recruitment place?
- The red hat makes me think of Carmen Sandiego.
- Is this before she gets recruited by Stark like in the One-Shot about her?
- Yeah, Stark, creepy is not the way to go. Leave some sign that it is you.
- He's gonna go over seas in that little personal boat?
- Is she just saying Stark is scared of water to throw them off his trail?
- Why do men always get the ick when you mention having lady stuff going on?
- Where did she get the blonde wig so quickly? And what did she use to knock the guy out?
- Ooo a watch that cracks safe, where do I get me one of those?
- "You understand that this job will require certain after-hours assistance, correct?" "So does my wife" lol
- Now she's a chemist disarming an explosive?
- Poor Colleen. She didn't deserve that.
- How did her hair not catch fire, but his hand burned?
- So where is she going to stay now?
- Is that the same hand she burnt, or did she do the other hand?
- That's kind of cool, it's like sending a text message but with a typewriter.
- I think Mr. Stark will understand.
- I didn't think it was going to suck everything into it...
- Bridge and Tunnel
- Agent Carter, the original girls girl.
- Would a health inspector really be wearing a lab coat?
- Oh yeah, that position at the desk is very lady like.
- Oh god, why does the radio make her out to be such a damsel?
- It seems Carter is only ever just one step ahead of her team and one step behind the bad guy, she needs to pick up the pace.
- How many of these black-hole-creating devices do we have?
- I wonder if heels can be identified just as sneakers can be from the treads.
- How in the world can an apartment implement a curfew?
- How are they sorting the debris?
- Time and Tide
- She kind of looked like the Black Widow actress for a quick second with her hair pinned up in curls like that.
- I wonder how she learned of the male visitor. I am also curious why it was necessary for Carter to stay for that whole debacle.
- Oopsies, I wonder if it will lead them back to the butler guy and if he will end up arrested. His poor wife.
- Oh, smart. Reported the entire car as stolen after they got rid of it.
- She is so smart, coming back with paperwork to snag the stolen car report.
- Honestly, she is far better giving up the shield for the crutch than giving it up for you, jerk.
- Why doesn't the butler have his own self-defense weapon?
- Why does Stark even have these inventions?
- That was an interesting New York accent.
- I thought she would've left when he went to make the phone call.
- Why in the world does their siren sound like that? It's like the incoming storm alarm they play in movies.
- Aw man, that SSR agent wasn't the nicest, but he didn't deserve to be taken out like that.
- Dude having a wife and girlfriend may just be reason for me not to be sad he got taken out.
- The Blitzkrieg Button
- I wonder who actually took out the agent and the witness. Because it was not Peggy.
- Ooo, is she going to sneak him into her room? She is going to lose her place to live.
- How in the world did they get the film that small and how would you be able to view it?
- The greatest city on the planet? That feels like a stretch.
- Offering a visitor water out of a nasty toilet is diabolical.
- I thought he said he would help him escape, death is technically an escape but it is not the escape I thought he meant.
- Wow, Carter did not trust Stark or Jarvis, crazy.
- Why in the world does he have Steve Rogers' blood?
- Does anyone deserve to have his blood though? Like. shouldn't you have the original formula that was injected into him? Why do you need his blood?
- Who the heck is this woman that just took out the assassin?
- How in the world is she going to fix that hole in the wall? Oh, a painting. Fair enough.
- The Iron Ceiling
- I'm sorry, we are teaching the little girls to be like Snow White but also like Elektra?
- Why in the world did Dottie just take Carter's room key?
- Did she actually read that in the note or did she make it up to get in the case?
- Oof, her shoulder scars gave her away.
- It's crazy how much nicer the guys they met up with treat her then the guys she works with from day to day.
- It's crazy to think that both generations of Starks were involved in the government's military strategies and both generations decided they wanted out of that.
- Yeah, I would not have trusted one lonely child left in a building like that.
- I thought deadbolts could only be locked and unlocked from the door closed position...
- And here he was thinking she was going to be the one holding them back.
- So crazy neighbor girl is from that school that they just invaded. Got it.
- He's trying to decide if he should turn her in or not...
- A Sin to Err
- I am surprised that Agent Carter spoke out as much as she did; normally, she bites her tongue here.
- Secretary school?
- Whoever this doctor is that she just walked into the office for is giving creeper vibes. What do you mean you sent everyone home so you can spend one-on-one time with the young, female applicants. CREEPY.
- What is Jarvis' wife going to say when he goes home all bruised up?
- Wasn't the neighbor lady planted before they went to Russia? How did they know they would need her there?
- SHE IS USING MORSE CODE WITH HIM?!?
- THAT TRAITOR!
- Oh no, he told on Carter, didn't he?
- And yet another thing that makes guys feel awkward, crying. Why?
- And what in the world gave it away that she doesn't actually work for the phone company?
- So the doctor is a hypnosis guy too?
- For her own safety?!? MAYBE YOU SHOULD BE MORE CAUTIOUS OF HER!
- Oh, so now you're going to take her combative skills seriously?
- SNAFU
- Is that the same doctor they have in their custody?
- She looks an awful lot like Peggy...
- Why in the world does that Russian Spy need a baby carriage?
- I love that she says it is quite unpleasant, as if she has done it herself.
- There had to have been a better way of sending people across the street and getting him away from the window without notifying him of what was going on.
- And now that Russian scientist has access to all of Stark's inventions.
- What was the vest?
- Why wouldn't you instantly take that shot?
- Why is he still investigating the building?
- What is the purpose of putting gas in a movie theater?
- Oh, the gas evokes anger in them.
- Valediction
- He really should wear whatever protection they tell him to.
- Told ya, they can't protect him from everything after all.
- He really is such a playboy...
- Is he still trying to guess her name??
- So what happens when he flies into a building because he doesn't see one in his fake vision?
- So much for not letting him talk.
- That is incredible that she managed to knock him out of the illusion.
- I thought Dottie died when she was pushed out the window onto the plane wing?
- That is so sweet of him to sneak her the vial.
- WHY IS SHE POURING IT INTO THE RIVER?!?
- So if they forced his mouth to remain shut so that he can not hypnotize anyone, how is he supposed to eat?
- THAT'S THE SCIENTIST WHO ENDS UP ON THE COMPUTERS IN THE CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER MOVIE!
