Official Synopsis: Sebastian (Ryan Gosling) and Mia (Emma Stone) are drawn together by their common desire to do what they love. But as success mounts they are faced with decisions that begin to fray the fragile fabric of their love affair, and the dreams they worked so hard to maintain in each other threaten to rip them apart.
Personal Review/Remarks as Noted While Watching:
-Old fashioned beginning with a widening of the screen to create the illusion of curtains opening as was probably occurring at the premiere in Hollywood.
-Introductory singer is not who you would expect due to publicity and causes you to think you are watching the original Broadway show rather than the new remake.
-In the words of the movie, very "hollywoodesque" in the sense that it is rather fast paced and dizzying due to constant camera angle changes and zoomage.
-Made me think of a combination of Hairspray and Annie.
-Embarrassingly funny watching Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling flirt.
-Becomes very sad when one character begins to find their self and what they truly want from life while the other loses their self in fame and money.
-Rather unorthodox ending with an unusually confusing conclusion.
Altogether it was a decently made move that perfectly depicted the Hollywood of childhood dreams. However, I would not be one to watch it again on purpose...
