Any streamer will tell you that it is a good idea to have MODs on your team, they help make your life just a little bit more seamless when you are trying to be active with your live community. Even as a first-time streamer who doesn't know what they are doing. Having somebody there who can help let you know that you muted your mic and forgot to unmute it. Having somebody who can help answer chat when you have gotten a little too into the virtual world. Somebody who can take care of the spam bots that are going to come through, because they will, even for noobs, ESPECIALLY for noobs. MODs are a very essential part of the streaming world.
Now you can certainly try and take care of everything yourself, but you may end up finding yourself getting more stressed that way. You may end up having three or four different bots with different features to help keep everything reigned in. You may find that you are constantly having to stop what you are doing as an entertainer to press extra buttons. You may find that you inadvertently missed something because you were trying to fix something else and now you can't get back to the original item.
Make sure your MODs are somebody that you trust and not somebody who is just going to take advantage of the power though. You want somebody that you can rely on to be honest with you about your content and your mistakes. You want somebody who is going to have fun with the chat but knows when enough is enough and time people out for doing stuff they shouldn't. You want somebody who is not going to disappear on you when you need them most like during a raid.
My MODs may not always have the time to drop in but they are always there for me when I absolutely need them and I know that if I am really starting to struggle, they will come help take away at least a tiny bit of that burden.
