Clash Of the Thundermans Movie Review

Hello friends, and welcome to another movie review. This is another one where I had seen some clips on TikTok, and I was intrigued to see what it was actually like.

We start at a ceremony where the 7 Thundermans take down a villain who wants revenge, but Chloe starts glowing. She visits a super doctor, and it turns out she is getting another power, one of the rarest and hardest to control. She gets invited to a really cool hero school. Chloe creates an energy storm, and they end up fugitives of the hero league. The president wanted to force Chloe to go to a school she doesn't want to go to. Everyone on Chloe's side sneaks into a museum to steal a lasso of healing to restore Chloe's powers since she had been given a sedative. They get stuck in the museum until their talking rabbit  (Colosso) crashes through the wall in a van; they drive to their grandma, who shows them how to use the lasso. Max builds a machine to track  Chloe's new power, and he manages to find them at their grandma's farm. It should be noted that all Thunderman family members wear a cape except Chloe. Chloe gets them all to stop fighting and goes to the school. Turns out the headmistress Cognita is not good; she is a villain wanting to take over. She plans to use Chloe's new power to create an energy storm to turn people to dust. The family makes up and agrees to work together. Cognita straps Chloe into a machine; she kicks Cognita into Magnatite while they are trying to free the girl. Chloe teleports out of the chair, activates the distress signal on her watch, and gets back in the chair. The Thunderman family break in and have to defeat the school children being mind-controlled by Cognita. Cognita releases Chloe to fight her family now under mind control. Max breaks away to fight Cognita, but she shoots at him, and Phoebe takes the hit. Max then uses his powers to turn the dials on Cognita's headband, making her super dumb. Then they have to deal with the storm; she manages it with the support of her family. Phoebe gets offered the super president job, and Max leaves to find himself.

At the start of the film, when they introduced us to Colosso, I wasn't really sure what the point of having a talking bunny would be, but obviously he was very key in helping half the family escape the museum. I didn't find the bunny funny; it seemed like the rabbit was meant to be similar to Salem from Sabrina the Teenage Witch. I wasn't really a fan of this character.

It had good character growth between Phoebe and Max, feeling like Phoebe was holding him back his whole life, but they still worked together and made up.

The fight scenes felt a little off. Yes, I understand CGI had to put their various powers into effect, but it was just a little strange, almost like it was punches and kicks that weren't making contact with the other actors.

In the part where the family had to fight the school children, one of them did a flip and almost got stuck in their cape; it was a moment I thought was funny because obviously it wasn't meant to happen.

All in all, I think this is a movie more for teens rather than adults or children, but it was still enjoyable; I just wouldn't watch it again. If there was a second movie, maybe I would watch that just because I have watched this one. 5/10

Thank you so much for reading. I really appreciate the time you took to get through it. If you have any movie suggestions, I believe there is a comment section; if you want to leave a suggestion in there, you can. I hope you have a great rest of your week, and I will see you with a new post next week. :)
