Episode 1 - Turns out that the human was a hologram, like back in the sanctuary. Until another one comes out: a younger man and an older man. The group travels to New Attica. But Kit and Otto don't want to stay. Eva gets in the transport; Meego pops up to give her a history lesson. 2.2 million people live there; she is no longer the last human. The transport leaves her in a park. She finally meets Cadmus, the guy who has been sending her hologram messages a few times to her. His children show her around, and she is treated like a celebrity, and not in a good way. The girls take her into a game about the outside world; it's all wrong. She doesn't feel at home. Cadmus leaves a gift for her in her room, and she thinks it's her mother, but it's just another mother bot. She closes the door to her balcony and spots someone who looks just like her.
Episode 2 - The next day, Eva sees that woman again and chases after her. She jumps into a waterfall to follow this woman; it's a sanctuary. Eva meets Eva 8, the one who came before her. Eva 8 goes to the meeting with Eva 9 to see Cadmus, where they get swarmed by birds, and she gets a message from Otto in her mind that the flicker man is not nice. Otto means Cadmus.
Episode 3 - Eva finds her friends with Eva 8's help. Eva 8 gets scared of the aliens, but from what it seems, no one else has been able to communicate with the aliens. Kit is injured, so they all help to get him back to his people in his village. Then a giant metal spider thing starts shooting at them, Hayley, the first human Eva ever met. They escape and fly towards the wasteland.
Episode 4 - They crash because of the metal spider thing shooting at them, taking out a thruster. The ship they were flying in kind of looks like Eve's from WALL-E. They have to walk through the wasteland after they crash-landed because of the sky Whales taking out the other thruster. They run to the walking tree for cover. They meet the bartender's cousin from the place with the fish race; Eva gets advice from these characters, and they head into the sandstorm. In the sandstorm, they come across bones that they had been warned to stay away from, as a monster was there. They run to a nearby car for shelter and camp out there. Eva wakes up, and Kit is missing; she walks out of the cave to find him limping off to be eaten by the monster so the rest will be saved. The monster then makes contact with Eva and lands right in front of her. This is the biggest, most stunningly beautiful butterfly just staring right at her. Eva thinks she has made a friend, but the butterfly was ready to strike when Eva 8 attacked it, saving Eva. The three of them all go back to camp, and Eva 8 tells them of her experience in the wasteland. That's where she lost Freya, because of that butterfly.
Episode 5 - They make it back to Kit's home, but the people at the gate turn them away, saying they can't help humans and it's no home to Kit. She sneaks Kit in through the gate, past the guards, and heads towards where she can get some medicine. She steals the medicine but gets discovered; the leader of the village is Kit's father but turns him away. Eva stands up to the leader and leaves to find a bird of truth for a ceremony. Eva is about to get a lesson on the Serulians. If Eva wins, Kit will be treated; if he fails, he gets banished. The leader tells a story of a storm taking lots of villagers' lives, and they needed Kit to find a new path for a new home, but instead he left. This is the storm where Kit lost his family. Eva has a turn to speak, declaring that Kit is her father because he saved her and stayed by her side. The leader decides he wants to save his son. The community celebrates, and Eva 8 looks upset, probably because she doesn't have a father, just her sister.
Episode 6 - Eva gets shown around the village, and the leader says she is welcome in the village, and it's her home now. Eva 8 leaves to go find her friends because the village is not her home. There is a celebration in the village: dancing, music, flowers, the whole shebang. Eva gets a vision of the heart of the forest. The war machine spiders find the village, and Eva leads them away with Otto and Haley. Kit helps save the three on his pet with another villager and their pet after they had nowhere else to run. Otto tells them to head for sticky mud, and the three spider things get trapped, but one escapes and starts shooting at all of them. Eva gets stranded on an island, and Teal, Kit's pet, jumps back over to save her but gets a foot stuck in the mud. Teal throws Eva to safety, and Kit jumps over, frees Teal's foot, and they all run off together. Haley gets knocked down while running and hurts his leg, calling for Eva. They are trapped once again, and another machine lands. Cadmus lands. He reveals Haley had them tracked. Eva 8 shows up and gets electrocuted trying to save her sister, who had also been electrocuted. Cadmus wants to save the human race with the source. The heart of the forest can save the humans, but the humans have become lazy and spoiled with technology from Cadmus.
Episode 7 - Eva 8 wakes up in a cell; Eva 9 is being held in some seat thing. Cadmus tells her a small amount of alien spores contaminated her sanctuary; that's why she is able to communicate with all of the life forms. Cadmus starts driving the machine using Eva as a compass towards the heart. Cadmus crashes when Eva escapes, and 8 manages to escape, but Eva runs off before 8 can make her stick around. Cadmus stuns 8 and tries to convince her that Eva needs their help. 8 accepts his hand and tackles him to the floor, stunning him with his electrocution omnipod. 8 announces she will protect Eva. Eva is bleeding internally but still continues on and finds sanctuary 118. The heart seems to be calling her to the tunnel. Eva goes down the tunnel, her injury worsening. The heart is in a mother unit. That's why the voice she was hearing was her mother; it was a mother, just not her own. The heart connects to Eva. Eva wakes up in her sanctuary with Meego and her mother, but Eva realises that she is not her mother; she is the heart. 8 finds her in the sanctuary and starts undoing all the vines between her and the heart, but stops and moves towards the mother unit. 8 pulls the heart out of the mother unit's hands, and all the plant life starts dying around her. 8 takes the vines off Eva to reveal Eva has gone grey, and then 8 gets kidnapped by Cadmus. As the camera pans back, we see all the surrounding trees and plant life dying.
It's a very sad moment to see Eva get defeated by Cadmus. It did seem like he would be the villain, but I am getting bad vibes from 8; maybe it's because she is traumatised by the outside world, but I just don't really like her character. She seems too needy, but again that could just be trauma, but I am loving this series, es and I cannot believe I didn't look this up sooner because it seems to just get more interesting the longer you watch. My eyes are glued to the screen. This cannot be the end of Obona (what the aliens are calling Earth now). I am very much looking forward to seeing what happens next season.
