There are many different paths you can take in life, and a lot of those paths can lead to the same goal. That is because there is no one correct way to go about anything. Sometimes different paths can be found because you have different capabilities, sometimes it's a matter of what connections you have, sometimes it's that the path was already forged before you started on your journey.
When I was working on hitting affiliate on Twitch, I had my own alternate motives; I was helping a friend. It eventually became I continued streaming because I enjoyed it and I enjoyed the community connections, and I wanted to have a way to relieve stress but by that point I had already gotten affiliate due to pushing my way into other communities and making connections with folks who helped to push me and keep my numbers up. Because of that community, I try my best, every chance I can, to help push others to get to that point. Where they take it after that is completely up to them, but I can help at least get them started.
Whether this is the best means of achieving something like affiliate status on Twitch or monetization status on YouTube, is still up for debate but at least it gets rid of the stress of when will you make that status if at all.
There are some folks out there who streamed for months and years on end before finally getting that status, and only because they happened to be playing a game that brought in somebody bigger with the numbers to help push them there.
Over time, your drive can diminish, and that's unfortunate because that drive is what should be helping to push you into triumph rather than into a wall of defeat.
